Slowly cooked lamb shank sandwich
for cooking lamb shank:
2 lamb shanks
1 cinnamon stick
1 whole onion
1 teaspoon turmeric powder
salt and black pepper
New Z Mayo
Thin slices of red onion
For slow cooking Lamb Shank
First of all wash the lambs. put the lamb shanks in a suitable size pot. The size of the pot depends on your shank”s size. Not too big not too small.
Peel the onion then place the cinnamon stick, onion, turmeric and salt and pepper in the pot.
Add some water to the pot until just cover the shanks. Bring to the boil. Skim and then decrease the heat. cover the pot with a lid and simmer gently for 2-2;30 hours or until cooked nice and tender. throw out the onion and cinnamon stick.
Gravy is so good gust adjust the seasoning.
